A digital footprint is the permanent, traceable trail of data your teen leaves behind whenever they use the internet. Think of it as their permanent digital reputation. 

Everything they do online contributes to this trail, and it is divided into two main categories:

• Active Footprint (What they share): This includes everything they consciously post, like Instagram photos, TikTok videos, comments, and gaming chats.

• Passive Footprint (What is tracked): This is data collected about them automatically in the background, such as their browsing history, location data, and website tracking cookies.
