CAREER EXPLORATION PROGRAM
PACE is the Peru Afterschool Career Explorations program, a 5 year grant-funded initiative aimed at giving Peru students new and enriching experiences designed to broaden their horizons and teach them about careers in our area. This program is free to all district students in grades 4-12. The grant is slated to run between July of 2021 through June of 2026.
2:15 - 2:45pm: 10th period with a teacher/club activity
2:45 - 3:00pm: Check in & healthy snack
3:00 - 4:30pm: Enrichment Programming*
4:30: Dismissal (bus or parent pickup)
*Enrichment Programming will vary by day of the week and session offering
3:00pm-3:20pm: Check in & healthy snack
3:20 - 4:35pm: Enrichment Programming*
4:40: Dismissal (bus or parent pickup)
*Enrichment Programming will vary by day of the week and session offering
2025-2026 Academic Year Session Dates
Session 1- September 9th - October 9th
Session 2- October 21st - November 20th (no PACE 10/29 or 11/11)
Session 3- December 2nd - January 15th (no PACE 12/3, break)
Session 4- January 27th - March 12th (no PACE on 1/28 or break)
Session 5 - March 24th - April 30th (no PACE on break)
GOALS of PACE
1) Increase students’ Core Academic Knowledge and Skills
2) Improve Key Behaviors and Attitudes, attendance, engagement, and cultivate career aspirations
3) Foster Career-Specific Knowledge and Skills
including critical thinking and problem solving, teamwork and collaboration and effective communication.
The PACE Program looks to give students out-of-school experiences in the following fields:
Computer Technology and Communications
Environmental Conservation and Agriculture
Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering
Education, Health and Human Services
