Pershing is a fully remote company with employees located across the United States. However, there is a high concentration of designers in the Mid-Atlantic region, particularly in Maryland.
The internship will be primarily remote, but interns should expect to meet in person 1-2 times per week at our office space in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Pershing rents office and conference spaces as needed for in-person meetings, design reviews, and training sessions.
Since the program is limited to 2-3 interns per session, we will select an office or coworking space that is convenient for both Pershing staff and the interns. Interns will have access to this space during scheduled meetings and can also use it as a quiet, focused workspace when needed.
Whether meeting or working in-person or remote, a typical day is 9am-5pm ET. Pershing is however quite flexible with hours, and given the nature of some of the work for students, much of it can be worked on at the students pace and convenience. Access to Pershing employees and leadership, however, will mostly be kept to the standard 9-5 hours.
When remote, Pershing uses all the usual tricks to stay connected – messaging apps like Slack, conferencing apps like Zoom and Teams, and sometimes even old fashioned phone calls. If a student is online and working, we generally expect them to be fully available, especially if during core working hours.

Students will be compensated at a rate of $25/hr for undergraduates, and $30/hr for graduate students. Compensation may be negotiated should the student have prior relevant experience and is able to contribute to project work at a higher level of proficiency.
Benefits such as healthcare insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits will not be extended as a part of the temporary employment during the internship program.
