Craig Whitaker is a graduate of Perry high School class of 1995 where he was a member of the Perry Baseball program. He continued his collegiate career at Kent State University in pursuit of a degree in Earth Science where he also had the opportunity to pursue his baseball career. While at Kent State University he was a member of the 2000 Mid American Conference (MAC) Championship Baseball team. Craig furthered his education at Mississippi State University earning a Master’s Degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University (2011). Craig designed and implemented the first Physical Geology program at Perry Local Schools. Along with his work in the classroom Craig has further taken on the role of an Adjunct Professor for Stark State University where he teaches college courses for Perry High School students in Physical Geology. These students have the opportunity to earn 4 college credits in the field of Physical Geology free of cost to the student or their families. Craig has continued to serve off and on as Varsity coach at Perry since 2004. He is married to his lovely wife Elizabeth Whitaker, Social Studies Teacher in Perry Local Schools. The couple have two children Thomas and Jonathan and proudly reside in Perry Township.
