Coping Strategies
Does your child need help coping with their feelings and emotions? Listed below are some favorite coping skills I teach students to use:
Deep breathing exercises: Bubble Breathing-Tell your child to breathe in deeply through their nose, and then breathe out slowly through their mouth like they are trying to blow a bubble with a wand. Pizza breathing- Have your child breathe in through their nose like they are trying to smell the pizza, then tell children to blow (breathe out) on the pizza to cool it off.
