Raffle tickets may be purchased by redeeming Barristers' Bucks (game currency) at any point during the event. You may purchase additional raffle tickets with cash or on Zeffy starting at 9:00 PM at the TICKETS table or here on our website. All raffle entries are due at 10:30 PM, and we will begin live draws shortly thereafter. During the event, you can view the live raffle entry tallies here.
The $20 Barristers' Bucks you receive upon entry may be redeemed for raffle tickets at any point during the event at the TICKETS table.
A select number of prizes are "Grand Prizes" and will be drawn off via live auction at 10:45 PM, right before the conclusion of the event. The remainder will be drawn overnight and emails will be sent to winners over the weekend.
Our raffle is operated through Jotform. You will be sent an email automatically the same email address that you used to purchase your raffle tickets. A Jotform will be assigned to you with this email address, and you will be asked to sign into Jotform with that account (log-in through Google for a one-click option).
You can allocate your allotted tickets in any way you choose. For example, if you redeem your initial $20 buy-in, you can allocate those 20 raffle entries to the parking spot raffle, either of our class-specific raffles, or the raffles for any of the remainder of our prizes. You get a total of 20 entries, which you can break down in any increment.
Guests may choose to allocate their raffle entries to prizes that they might also enjoy or appreciate, but may also allocate their raffle entries in the name of their student date. Guests are not permitted to enter raffles for class-specific gifts, indicated as such on the Prizes page. If a guest wins a class-specific prize, another winner will be drawn and the guest's raffle entries will not be returned for resubmission.
All class-specific prizes are subject to verification of class standing.
Please note that London students who purchase a ticket to a London-equivilant Barristers' event will be allotted 10 raffle tickets and will have the option to pre-buy additional entries.
Please also note that SBA members are eligible to enter the raffle. The raffle is overseen by the Student Life Office and entries are not editable by anyone other than the SBA President and Vice President.
No outside food or beverage is permitted inside. Remember: too much drinking means no more gameplay.
No larceny, conversion, or embezzlement of Barristers' Bucks (misappropriated raffle ticket entries will be invalidated on a prima facie showing of fraud in the factum/inducement).
We are not a casino and the great majority of our team has little experience operating the same. We do not represent or warrant any expertise and will not take kindly to Vegas regulars critiquing our ability to operate the casino categorically or any games specifically.
By participating, you acknowledge that we are raising money for our Student Emergency Fund and that you will not have an opportunity to "cash out" for USD, but rather can allocate any earned Barristers' Bucks towards raffle entries for our many prizes (with value exceeding $15,000).
You likewise acknowledge that the doctrine of laches (you snooze you lose) will be applied to your winnings with prejudice if you do not exchange your Bucks for raffle entries before our deadline of 10:30 (make sure you visit a table to submit before then, but we'll honor those in line at the cutoff). Similarly, if you win a prize but do not respond to our email in a timely manner to redeem/collect, we will select another winner.
Do not harm any property at the venue. Don't rip cards or get them wet. Don't set drinks on the felt. Be respectful of the venue and the equipment.
Be careful with your phones around tables, as cheating at card games will not be tolerated and may subject you to forfeiture of Barristers' Bucks. Prolonged videography should likewise be avoided. To be safe, step away when you need to send messages, or do so with discretion towards the table.
Obey all orders and requests from SBA Staff or event security during the duration of the event. Repeatedly disobeying such requests may result in the forfeit of your Entry ticket and/or Return Shuttle reservation.
SBA will update our website periodically. All information is accurate as of the moment of publishing. Please check back regularly for new information and reminders. You are responsible for understanding and following all applicable rules and instructions from SBA staff.
