Teaching Philosophy
Welcome and thank you for visiting this space!
I am first generation Salvadorian American. Born, raised, and living in Los Angeles. I have been teaching since 2005. I have taught Mathematics, Art, ELL, and Higher Education Courses to Art Ed. and Child Development Undergraduates. I teach with compassion, empathy, and strive to add to literature and pedagogical practices. I am a servant leader and some theoretical frameworks I use in my pedagogy are critical pedagogy, student-centered and experiential learning, reflective practices and Bloom's Taxonomy.
I strive to grow and continue to support students needs by building engaging curriculum that will attract lifelong learners and critical thinkers. I am a strong believer in creating safe, inclusive, and equitable spaces for people to learn, share, collaborate, feel valued, and seen. I love learning and growing alongside my students!
