We have had an excellent start to the term, completing a range of disciplinary and transdisciplinary learning through subjects Computing, History, Geography, Science, RE, and DT.
Through our transdisciplinary learning we have looked at computing systems, networks, and what the internet is made of. As a class we discussed what confidential information entails, and started to explore how we can keep ourselves safe online. Following on from this, we have had extensive discussions about how global networks function, linking to our class text: 'Agent Asha, Mission Shark Bytes'. We have really enjoyed venturing into Agent Asha's spy world and have been utilising the text to enhance our writing skills and techniques, for example looking at descriptive character profiles, story mapping, and comparing formal and informal writing. Additionally, we have been tasked by the Children's Spy Agency (CSA) start designing our own spy gadget prototypes. In geography we have been utilising Google maps and Earth to locate lines of latitude and longitude, including the Equator and the Prime Meridian.
In History we have been looking at and comparing how crime and punishment has changed over time - focussing on the Roman and Tudor periods. This learning has linked with our central idea 'Organisation may create order'. We have thoroughly enjoyed our learning so far this term and are looking forward to enhancing our learning further as the term continues.
We are delighted to introduce our new Head Boy, Head Girl , Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl at Peninsula East Primary Academy.
Head Boy - Sonni

At Peninsula East Primary Academy, we have a school council with representatives from each class in Year 1 to Year 5. Our Nursery and Reception classes are represented by Year 6 pupils, our Head Boy, Head Girl and deputies, who will share their ideas and feedback to them from the meetings. Being a School Council Representative is a responsible position and the children involved will play a very important part in developing Peninsula East Primary Academy for the better.
Please welcome our school council members:
Year 1 - Brooke & Teddy
Year 2 - Dolly & Hartlee
Year 3 - Isabelle & Finn
Year 4 - Paisley & Ollie
Year 5 (Rosa Parks) - Luisa-Marie & Vinnie
Year 5 (Ian Rose) - Savannah & Teddy
About Our School Council
The school council is about:
Learning to work together
Learning about democracy
Learning how to play a positive role in our community
The council’s aim is to enable the children to make a positive contribution to the way in which the school functions. The children’s ideas and concerns are listened to and the meetings are minuted and shared with the rest of the school. Children’s views are taken seriously and acted upon where possible.
We will work with the children to create the meeting agendas, and this is discussed in each class before the official meeting takes place. This way, School Council Representatives are able to bring the opinions of their peers to the meeting.
