Our Wonderful Inquiry Work
Julia Donaldson
This module's transdisciplinary theme is 'How we organise ourselves', focusing on science and the human body.
The children have further developed their inquiry by looking into the chronology of sporting events such as the Olympic games and analysing the similarities and differences. The children have also been comparing Paris (which is the next Olympic host in 2024) to Allhallows by looking at key features. The children have also been learning about how our five senses impact and are utilised by our bodies. The children enjoyed using their digital skills to make digital art by researching and making Olympic poses.
Helen Sharman
This module has been amazing. Helen Sharman class has learnt about making rockets in science. We learnt all about our moon and solar system, we then learnt about elements that go into rocket launches. We investigated the amount of water best to launch a bottle rocket, then we investigated the best design, taking into consideration the air resistance. Once we had learnt the best conditions we put these all together to launch our bottle rockets.
In geography we learnt about how to use an atlas and maps. We used this to help us predict where our rockets would land in the school field. We did this as we also learnt how NASA was formed and how they organise space missions. They use geographical knowledge to plan where the returning capsules will land safely.
This term we read Cosmic by Frank Cottrell-Boyce. Similar to the story of Liam going to a new theme park, we created some stories about winning a competition to be the first person to a new theme park.

Mini Youth Games Multi-Skills Tournament
Some of Year 1 and Year 2 were lucky to attend a multi-skills event on Thursday 23rd March. It was a fantastic event, the children participated in a range of activities such as bean bag throwing and racing against other children. The children worked well as part of a team. The children were all keen to engage and were super excited to share that they had all won either a silver or gold award. It was a successful event! Thank you to Miss Carlton and Mrs Fenner for taking the children and guiding them through the day.
Information
Parking
We have had a number of families contacting the office to discuss the Parking Warden that has been spotted outside of the school. As a school this is not something that we have organised, and unfortunately we cannot stop this from happening. We have no link to the Parking Warden, so we do not know if or when they are going to arrive and this is organised by Medway council. If you would like to call Medway council to discuss this further then please contact them on: 01634 332266.
We would only contact Medway to report vehicles if they were blocking the access to the school site or stopping the minibus from coming in or leaving the site. Some of our neighbours next to the school also report parking when it stops them accessing their driveways but this is beyond our control.
We thank you in advance for your understanding.
