Life After Death

By Roman Jelinek

Life after death is a complex subject that provokes many deep thoughts. While there is no complete and definite answer here is what some people believe happens after you die.

One belief is the concept of an afterlife, which is when one's soul is existent in another realm or dimension. Per what my religion believes in, this is a strong topic that is taught about. Some people envision this other realm and call it heaven or the promised land. This is where the soul experiences eternal life and bliss. Others describe this realm as a sort of justification or a way of purifying the soul.

Another perspective is the idea of coming back to life after death. Reincarnation, suggests that after one dies, the soul is reborn and comes back to earth into a new body to continue on a different life. I believe that some people are given this special choice and are brought back. The circumstances of a new life after death are believed to be chosen or influenced by the actions and choices that were made in the previous lives, therefore determining if one is worthy of reincarnation or not.

Some viewpoints propose that life after death is just not true or real. These perspectives argue that consciousness arises from the brain and disappears and no longer exists when the body dies. This interpretation focuses on the infinite nature of life. Many believe that when you die, that is the end, this belief arises from many controversial topics on the afterlife. I think that everyone is given a chance to go into the afterlife, and you make that choice in your previous life, depending on how you choose to lead your own life, good or bad.

It is important to remember that these many beliefs are personal to you and can vary from person to person. Some people find it comforting to think of these ideas and stay hopeful in the belief of the afterlife, while others find the meaning not that important and choose to focus on life in the present moment.
