About Penny Urbina...
Penny is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of New Mexico. She attended New Mexico Highlands University for both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work. Penny has spent the majority of her career focused in areas involving children, families, adoption, trauma and attachment. She has worked closely with neurodivergent children in the school setting, foster care and adoptions, and most recently has been providing individual therapy for children. Penny is passionate about supporting children and their families/caregivers to embrace their child's uniqueness, while assisting them in meeting their mental health, social/emotional connection and behavior needs.
Penny welcomes all families and enjoys educating others on all the ways brain differences can be amazing!
Penny is certified as an AutPlay™ Therapy provider. She is currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy. She has completed Sand Tray training, levels 1 and 2 at the Sand Tray Institute of NM, and is a member of the NMAPT.
