Welcome to Elementary Learning Support!

I am very excited to be one of your teachers this year. I feel passionate about creating a welcoming and comfortable learning environment for all students, so my goals are to help you become a lifelong learner and respectful collaborator.  Each person that enters this site and my learning support classrooms is an integral part of our classroom community, and I cannot wait to work with everyone this year.  

A Little Bit About Me

I grew up in McKeesport, PA and currently live in Irwin with my husband, three children, and dog.  I knew I wanted to be a teacher since the second grade and am truly grateful to be living out my passion.  I started my career in the McKeesport Area School District teaching second and fourth grade and recently taught fifth grade for several years in the Hempfield Area School District.  I was thrilled to join the Warrior team as an SLA five years ago at Harrison Park Elementary.  Since then, I have taught 5th Grade at McCullough and 7th and 8th Grade Math at Trafford Middle School. I am happy to join the Trafford and Sunrise Estates Elementary schools this year as a Learning Support Teacher, and look forward to working with these teams, students, and communities. 

Educational Background

I attended Penn State University during my undergraduate years of college and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I also graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in Special Education and am certified to teach middle school Math and Science. My passion for learning and education is ongoing, so I am looking forward to continuing to learn and grow with you this school year.
