Prevention Over Reaction
We believe in setting expectations before any lesson, classroom procedure, or protocol that we want to students to follow in order to stay safe and to create a great learning environment.
This way we are teaching students how to achieve these goals rather than expecting them to meet the expectation without support.
Modeling this behavior for students is the best way to help students visualize what the expectation looks like in within the classroom environment.
We also support students by making visual displays (posters) to remind them of what our School Wide Expectations are.
Recognizing Students for Appropriate Behavior and Meeting Expectations
We believe in recognizing students to ensure that they know we value their efforts. Below are a few ways that we do that.

Students receive a Ram Star when they display behavior that meets the 3Rs
READY
RESPONSIBLE
RESPECTFUL
These stars are then collected in a jar and pulled similar to a raffle for a variety of rewards

Campaigns focus on a certain skill.
Our most recent campaign revolved around Random Acts of Kindness. A list of over 100 kindness ideas are posted in the hallway to give students a resource to think of how they can show their kindness in school.
We have a heart in the hallway and students "fill up" the heart by posting their kindness Ram Stars and students are rewarded once the heart is all filled up!
