​6th GRADE CONCERT BAND (Day 2 & 4)

7th & 8th GRADE CONCERT BAND (Day 1 & 3)

The 6th Grade Band and 7th & 8th Grade Band are wind ensembles made up of student musicians who play woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Concert Bands will rehearse during “ Opportunity Period ” period from 11:06-11:36am on the designated rotation day. Students are expected to be in their seat ready to rehearse by 11:09am . A variety of band literature will be studied and both bands will perform concerts in the winter and spring.

CONCERT DRESS

Boys: White shirt, black pants and dress shoes.

Girls: White blouse and black skirt or slacks and flat dress shoes.

JAZZ BAND (THURSDAYS - 3-4pm)

The Pennwood Jazz Band is a select performing group open to all 7th & 8th Graders who are members of the Pennsbury Instrumental Music Program. (6th graders may be offered an audition if space allows). Auditions take place in October. The Jazz Band is made up of Saxophones, Trumpets, Trombones, Tuba, and Rhythm Section (Guitar, Piano, Vibes, Bass, Drum Set). Jazz Band Members will study a variety of jazz literature as well as jazz improvisation. The band rehearses once per week after school beginning in November and will perform at the 7th & 8th Grade Winder Concert, Pennsbury Jazz Festival in March, Jazz at Pennsbury in May, the Spring Bands Concert, and Field Day.

Boys: Black shirt, black pants, dress shoes, orange jazz tie.

Girls: Black blouse and black skirt or slacks and flat dress shoes. Orange jazz tie optional!
