BEHAVIOR

The graduation ceremony is a dignified and solemn event and we need cooperation from all to continue with this excellent tradition. We’re proud of Pennsbury and would like to have the ceremony as positive and dignified as possible. Graduates are not permitted to decorate their caps for the ceremony.

PLEASE NOTE that any student who chooses to be disruptive at graduation will find that his or her diploma has been withheld.

ATTIRE

Although participation in the commencement exercises is voluntary, students who are participating will be expected to dress properly for the occasion. Attire for young men is dress shorts/pants and a collared shirt. Young ladies should wear something that is appropriate for the expected weather. All should wear appropriate footwear. Students inappropriately dressed will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.

OBLIGATIONS

Obligations should be paid as soon as possible at the East Main Office. PLEASE NOTE that diplomas will be withheld until all obligations are paid.

PARKING

PARKING AND TRAFFIC PATTERNS have been arranged to provide for maximum efficiency. Graduates should enter the main drive and park on the gym side of the building. Cars dropping off graduates should enter the main drive and use the drive in front of the building. Guests are to park in the parking lots located at Pennsbury High School East, Pennsbury High School West, or in the Village Park parking lots. Uniformed police will be on duty to assist drivers in parking cars.

Dear Families of Graduating Students,

We appreciate your patience as we work through the unfortunate impact of this week’s weather. Because of the recent rain, we will not be able to park families on the grassy areas outside of the stadium as we typically do.

We are offering the following recommendations for Commencement parking:

· Whenever possible, please carpool

· Consider using rideshare services such as Uber, LYFT, or local cab companies

· Please allow plenty of time to arrive at and park for Commencement. Commencement begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.

· We offer special parking for individuals who are handicapped in the lots closet to the stadium. Handicapped parking with a golf cart shuttle to the stadium does take some time, so it is best to arrive early.

· The internal road is closed to attendees. Please enter the campus at the light on Hood Boulevard.

When attendees arrive at PHS East Campus for parking, they will be directed by our Security Team. We will fill the lots closest to the school, including Village Park Academy, first.

Self-directed or “open parking” can be found at the following locations.

· Yatzko Field lot

· Queen Anne lot

· Four parking lots at PHS West Campus

· Streets surrounding the campus

PHS administration is also pleased to announce that the graduation ceremony will be livestreamed in order to be viewed by family and friends who are not able to join us in person. The events will be aired on YouTube. Please follow the link in order to view the ceremony: Graduation: Thursday, June 10th. The links are also available on the Pennsbury High School website under Senior Information.

We understand that this is a special and exciting time for all of our families. We thank you for braving the weather issues with us.
