Tryouts
Fall 2022 Tryouts
Tryouts will begin Monday, August 14th at 9:00 am
August 14th- 9:00-11:00 & 4:00-6:00
August 15th- 9:00-12:00
August 16th- 9:00-11:00 & 4:00-6:00
August 17th- 9:00-12:00
Players are expected to attend all sessions; Decisions to be shared Thursday
*Inclement Weather: PHS West Orange Gym
10:00 am- 1:00 pm. Students should meet at Falcon Field by the Pool house with all equipment at 8:45 am.
Every player will be given at least three sessions to try out for the program. If numbers necessitate, there will be two rounds of cuts. More information regarding this process will be shared during the week.
These are not optional. If you want to be on the team, either JV or Varsity, you will be at tryouts. You will not be permitted to show up when school starts and join the program. Please contact me as soon as possible if you have a conflict.
In order to participate in tryouts all students MUST:
have a completed physical dated after June 1. Please see the Pennsbury Athletics website for the appropriate paperwork and upload all required documents to FamilyID.

If any of these items are not completed you will not be able to try out for the team.
Additionally, players should bring the following items to every session of tryouts:
soccer cleats
running shoes
shin guards
water
personal equipment (tape, pre wrap, etc.)
Expectations
All players should arrive at tryouts physically and mentally prepared. Pre-season will be a tryout session and also begin the foundations of team play. It will consist of extensive running and ball work, as well as game-like situations. Pre-season should not be used as a time to get into shape for the season. Players using it for this reason will most likely get injured.
The following lists the areas and skills that the coaching staff will look for during the tryout period. Everything you do for the tryout period is being evaluated, including how hard you work when a coach is not with you.
