Charles Boehm has had a chapter of the National Jr. Honor Society since 2003.
At the end of the second marking period, 7th grade students who have earned a 3.70 grade point average or higher as their final grades in 6th grade and first two marking periods of 7th grade are invited to apply. In addition, 8th grade students, who qualify and have not already been inducted, may be identified by using final grades for 6th and 7th grades and the first two marking periods of 8th grade. The application requires that students:
list their participation in community service and leadership activites from middle school (ie. CHB band, chorus, clubs, sports, as well as outside of school activities that include scouts, youth groups, etc).
write an essay
Applications will be scored on a rubric by the Faculty Council, and membership is extended to all students who qualify. Students will be then notified of their acceptance and an induction ceremony takes place in late spring. Once inducted, all members of NJHS are required to participate in community service activities during the school year.
*All questions concerning GPA are to be directed to the Guidance department.
The 2025 Application Process will begin in late March.
Invites will be sent in Canvas to eligible 7th and 8th grade students.
NJHS Induction is scheduled for 7pm on May 21, 2025
