The Pennsbury School District is in the process of launching its 1-to-1 Chromebook initiative for students entering grades 6-12 for the 2017-2018 school year. The goal of the initiative is to provide ubiquitous access to technology resources at both school and home. In order to achieve consistency and equity in technology, students will have the ability to lease a Chromebook from the School District for an annual fee of $40.00. Families can pay the fee at distribution with cash, check, money order or by paying in advance online using the SchoolCafe system (please note there is a $2 dollar convenience fee per child when paying online). Step-by-step directions for paying online are available here. A reduced fee is available for those families who can demonstrate financial hardship. The financial hardship application can be located by clicking here.

Over the past several weeks, the Technology Department has been finalizing the process for distribution and configuration of the Chromebooks. The Chromebooks will be ready for pick up by August 8th at William Penn Middle School. Please review the distribution calendar which can be located by clicking here. There are multiple pickup dates and times offered in order to accommodate family schedules. Families must reserve a time slot for each Chromebook to be picked up. Please complete the signup by clicking here.

In the coming days, families will receive a postcard in the U.S. mail. In order to expedite Chromebook distribution, please bring the postcard with you. The postcard contains information on how to receive a fast pass for distribution. Families who arrive prepared with all documentation completed and proof of online payment will be able to bypass some of the lines.

Please bring the following documents with you when you attend the Chromebook distribution at your selected time:

  1. The postcard that was mailed home. If you did not receive a postcard, one will be provided at distribution; however, it will take a little time to complete all of the information needed.
  2. Completed signout agreement.
  3. $40 payment (cash, check, or money order) or a printed receipt that includes your child's name from SchoolCafe.
  4. If your family is able to demonstrate financial hardship, please bring a completed financial hardship application along with $15 (cash, check or money order) and supporting documentation that is required.

Please note that while it is not required, we do recommend that students attend the Chromebook distribution with their parents/guardians. This will allow students the opportunity to obtain tech support for logging into their Chromebooks before heading home.
