WRE PTO - Race for Education

If you are new to West Rockhill Elementary, you may be wondering what exactly the Race for Education is….Race for Education is a FUN day for students and faculty. Everyone pledges to walk/run around a designated area in our back fields for a one-hour period - it’s an exciting day filled with music and exercise. For the weeks leading up to the Race for Education, students ask friends and family to sponsor them via donations to raise funds for the school. 95% of our PTO funding comes from this one event!

The funds raised from the Race allow the PTO to provide the following to WRE students and staff:

● Class Field Trips & Busing Costs

● Classroom/Curriculum Support

● Programs

● Family Events & Hospitality

● And More

Please help us in raising funds for your child’s school. Funds can be donated online, mailed to the school, or dropped off in person at the school between October 7th – October 11th.

3 Ways to Donate

This year there are 3 ways to collect donations for your child: an online option, a mail-in option, and a parent collection option.

Online donation forms are sent via email which allow sponsors to submit donations by credit card. A form can also be printed and returned with a check or money order. The third option allows parents to collect donations and send them to West Rockhill Elementary School.

Sponsors

A sponsor is someone who wishes to donate money in your child’s name to support the school through PTO funding. This may be family members, relatives, close friends, and neighbors. Christmas card lists are a good source of names. Also, the people you do business with are a good source of names e.g., barber, dentist, doctor, piano teacher, etc.

Online Option
REGISTRATION- ALL STUDENTS

Each student must be registered online.

1) Go online to https://app.99pledges.com/fund/WRERace2024/addme

2) Add your child’s name (you will have to do a separate add me if you have more than one student) and your email along with team (teacher name).

You will receive an email with your child’s personal fundraising page which you can share with friends and family. There is also a link on the page that you can share via social media.

Mail-In Option

If your donors would prefer to submit their donation through the mail, please ask them to follow the steps below.

1) Fill out the mail-in form completely with the student’s name, teacher, and grade. Please mail the form to:

Parent Collection Option

1) Linked below, you will find a tally sheet. Please utilize this page and an envelope to turn in any donations you receive in person via cash or check. The form is to not only help you keep track of the donations but to allow the PTO to accurately record the donations received for your child.

2) Please fill out the form and totals in all columns.

3) Please clearly label the envelope with “Attention PTO - Race for Education” and return to the school between October 7th and October 11th. This can be brought in by your child and given to their teacher or you can drop them off to Mrs. Barna in the main office.

Schoolwide Prizes – New This Year

The class that raises the MOST money collectively will earn a Pajama Day along with a movie, pizza, a treat party and a special prize just for the class.

The class that comes in SECOND for raising the most money collectively will earn a Pajama and Pizza party.

The class that comes in THIRD for raising the most money collectively will earn an Ice Cream party.

Medals

Medals will be given for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place students that run the most laps in every grade. This will be calculated by the number of stamps the student receives on their index card during the race.

If the students of West Rockhill can raise the goal amount of $30,000, Mrs. DiPaolo will take part in the voted principal's incentive!
