Curriculum

Reading/Language Arts| Our reading program runs daily, with two components. The first half of our reading block focuses on building foundational skills for reading and spelling; emphasizing phonemic awareness, phonics-word study, high frequency word study, fluency, vocabulary, handwriting, and spelling. This first half of our reading program follows Wilson's Fundations curriculum. The second half of our reading block is structured through Unique Learning System's curriculum and focuses on reading comprehension, through the implementation of scaffolded lessons, differentiated for each students' individual level.

Math| Our math program runs daily, using Equals AbleNet curriculum to deliver direct instruction in a small group setting. Students work on math concepts and skills at differentiated levels, with consistent use of manipulatives and hands on practice. Direct instruction is combined with individual and partner practice opportunities to allow students maximum opportunities for growth.
