Curriculum

Reading/Language Arts: Our reading class is daily with a daily block for language arts. Students work independently, with partners, and with the teacher to make growth on sight words, spelling, fluency, and reading comprehension. The PCI reading curriculum and Unique Learning curriculum is used and each student is working at their own level. Weekly spelling words will be given out on the first day of the week and tested on the last day of the week. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Math- Our math class is daily with students working in centers. During the math centers students work independently, with a small group/partner, and direct instruction with the teacher. The Equals Ablenet math curriculum is used and students are placed at their current instructional level. Topics covered this year will be addition/subtraction, shapes, patterns, measurement, math strategies, word problems, quantity discrimination, number sense, and many other elements of math. Science/Social Studies: For science and social studies the News2you curriculum is used. With this curriculum, students read a current event each week and complete different activities including geography and a science experiment.
