Wilson Language

FUNdations- FUNdations is a researched-based program that provides an integrated systematic word study, spelling, and handwriting curriculum. Every lesson builds upon student prior knowledge; and past concepts are reviewed and integrated within learning activities. The lessons are accessible to all students because the concepts are taught and practiced in multiple ways that target multiple learning styles. By differentiating instruction, each student can be challenged at their own level.

Just Words- Just Words is a concentrated word study program with an emphasis on phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, word study, and English orthography. To achieve mastery of of automatic word recognition, this curriculum systematically and thoroughly teaches students about the spelling structure of English words. This program is used for grades four and above.

Words Their Way- Words Their Way is a developmental spelling, phonics, and vocabulary program. This supplemental program is part of a balanced literacy plan that includes fluency, comprehension, and writing.


Book Club

At the middle school level, novels are being read in small groups with a focus on guided reading. This is a time to build a sense of community and get students excited for reading.
