Art Department

About the Penn Manor Art Department

The Art Department at Penn Manor serves about 520 students a semester, offering a wide range of classes including photography, jewelry and metals, ceramics, painting, fine art and creative publishing. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in the visual arts with a focus on production, historical and cultural contexts, critical response, and aesthetic response.

Arts Education is critical to an effective school-wide curriculum. Studies have shown that students involved in art education also improve in other academic areas such as English, math and science. The arts challenge a student to examine, think critically and make informed decisions about the work they are involved in be it their own art work or research and study of particular artist, period or style
