Experiment Title:

The title should be descriptive.

For example, “Exploration of Gas Properties” is a descriptive title but “Experiment 5” is not a descriptive title.

Prelab

NOTES:
The choice of a colored background, image background or just a white background for each section is up to you.
The only expectation is that the text is legible and easy to read.
Just make sure you include a title indicating this is the prelab section
The prelab section needs to be completed (with the exception of the data entry & partners) PRIOR to beginning the lab

Purpose: (to be completed AFTER THE LAB)

A purpose is a statement summarizing the “point” of the lab. It should be written in a text box.

NOTE: This should be IN YOUR OWN WORDS! Do not just copy the objective from the lab instructions.

Procedure Outline:

If the procedure is provided, you need to embed a screen shot or copy and paste the provided procedure into a textbox .
If you are developing your own procedure, you need to include the full procedure using a textbox. If you are developing the procedure, you should use bulleted statements or outline format to make it easy to read.
If you are having trouble with embedding the screen shot image see the help videos (HUB).

Data Tables (if necessary):

Before the lab you will need to create blank data tables necessary for data collection in the lab in a Google Doc in your shared folder and embed the document here using the "insert from Drive" option. The text should be visible-it should NOT just be a link to the document. If you are having trouble with embedding the doc, see the help videos (HUB).
During the lab you need to record all your data directly in the data table you created in the Google Doc. You are NOT to be recording data on a separate lab sheet or paper. You need to label all data clearly and always include proper units of measurement as needed. Your data table should be complete BEFORE you leave the lab.

Analysis

NOTES:

Guided Analysis: (to be done individually by each group member AFTER THE LAB)

For each lab, each student will individually complete a provided post lab analysis.

Please make a copy of the Goggle document, change the title to include your name, and save it to the folder you have shared with Dr. Wills
Complete the analysis using a different color text than black. Please make to use a color that is easy to read!!
When you have finished answering the questions, please embed your completed document using the "insert from Drive" option. The text should be visible-it should NOT just be a link to the document. If you are having trouble with embedding the doc see the help videos (HUB).

NOTE: If the analysis contains a graph, please embed it directly into the electronic notebook (not as part of the Google Doc). If you are having trouble embedding the image, see the help videos (HUB)

Reflection: (to be done individually by each group member AFTER THE LAB)

Students should briefly respond to the question: Why did we do this lab? If written, your 1-2 sentence response should be written in a new textbox. If you prefer, you may substitute another form of media (embedded audio clip, video clip, graphical organizer etc.) to answer this prompt. If you are having trouble with embedding media see the help videos (HUB).
Students should also briefly respond to the question: What is your level of understanding (partial, weak, strong, etc.) of the concepts and/or skills covered by this lab ? The purpose here is to reflect if any additional steps need to be taken to develop mastery. If written, your 1-2 sentence response should be written in a new textbox. If you prefer, you may substitute another form of media (embedded audio clip, video clip, graphical organizer etc.) to answer this prompt. If you are having trouble with embedding media see the help videos (HUB).
