 Year 6

It’s been a week of deep reflection and high energy in Year 6! In our English sessions, the children turned their pens to narrative writing, using an animation to explore the historical exclusion of Jewish communities. They handled the sensitive theme of being treated as outsiders with remarkable empathy, producing moving stories that balanced atmospheric descriptions with a sophisticated understanding of social justice. Meanwhile, the atmosphere in PE has been electric as we tackled the fast-paced world of handball. As a brand-new sport for the majority of the class, it has been wonderful to watch the children embrace the challenge of learning fresh rules and strategic teamwork. Their resilience in mastering new skills and their sensitivity toward complex history have made this a truly standout week of learning.

Finally, we are incredibly proud of the children for their fantastic performance in this week’s mock SATs; their hard work and perseverance are truly starting to pay off!

🌟Year 3 Takes the Stage! 🌟

Our Year 3 stars truly let their acting skills fly this week, during their spectacular performance at Leigh Academy Strood! It was a joy to watch weeks of hard work, choreography, and singing come together in such a professional setting.

From the sharp, rhythmic precision of the clerks to the colorful, uplifting ‘Let’s Go Fly a Kite’, the children performed with incredible confidence and poise. The atmosphere in the theater was electric, and we couldn't be prouder of how our students represented the school alongside Leigh Academy Strood.

A massive thank you to all the parents and carers for your support with costumes, transport, and for providing such a wonderful, cheering audience.

🏺Year 3 Workshop! 🏺

On Tuesday, Year 3 stepped back in time for an immersive Ancient Egyptian Workshop, and what a day of discovery it was! It was fantastic to see the children putting all of their classroom knowledge into practice as they dived headfirst into the world of pharaohs, gods, and pyramids.

The atmosphere was buzzing as the children engaged in hands-on activities, from exploring the intricate process of mummification to decoding mysterious hieroglyphics. Their historical vocabulary was on full display, and the workshop leader was incredibly impressed by the depth of their questions and their enthusiasm for the past.

From handling artifacts to re-enacting ancient rituals, the children truly brought history to life. A huge well done to our young historians for such a respectful and inquisitive day of learning!
