I have very high expectations for the students in each of my classes. The expectations outlined on this web-page are the same expectations that are explained on the syllabus.
Basic Expectations in Mr. Reynolds’ Class
- Try your best
- Respect yourself and others
- Be in class
- Adjust your voice level to suit the activity
Additional Expectations
- Food/Drink: No food/drink allowed except bottled water. Any/All other food/drink will have to be thrown away before entering the classroom per HTHS Code of Student Conduct. The only exception to this rule is lunch detention in the classroom.
- Cell Phones: Technology has made our lives much easier in many ways. While this technology can be wonderful, it is VERY disruptive in the classroom. To rectify this, cell phones should not be seen or heard in the classroom. Phones that are seen or heard are to be confiscated by the teacher and given to the front office and further disciplinary actions will be taken through administration. Absent compelling and unusual circumstances, confiscated devices will be returned only to the student’s parent per HTHS Code of Student Conduct.
- Dress Code: HTHS dress code can be found on the school’s website and all members of the school are expected to follow it strictly. If a student is out of dress code, the student will have to either rectify the error or spend the rest of the day in ISS (In School Suspension) per HTHS Code of Student Conduct.
- Headphones: Students are welcome to bring headphones in order to listen to music while they work during time allotted to individual work; however, per HTHS Code of Student Conduct, students are only able to listen to music when using a chromebook and NOT from their cellular devices or MP3 player in order to limit distractions. Student’s with headphones plugged into their cell phone will have the same consequences as if they had their phone seen/heard (above.)
-----------------------------------------Behavior------------------------------------------
Students will be expected to act in a respectful way at all times to all persons, including themselves, their peers and their teacher. Because having a safe and orderly class environment where all students have the opportunity to do their best is essential, poor behavior of any type is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. If your student does not adhere to reasonable behavior standards, I will contact you to make you aware of the situation and create a behavior plan.
