It has been an action-packed and successful spring term with so many great activities and events enjoyed across the school community. I'd also like to acknowledge the support received from parents and carers during disruptive periods of poor weather and industrial action.

In this months newsletter, we provide a range of updates, news and important diary dates for the summer term including bank holidays and sports days.

Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Mrs H. Middleton all the very best as she begins her maternity leave. On behalf of the whole school community, thank you for your outstanding work this year and best wishes for this exciting new chapter.

outdoor works

As you will have seen, we are absolutely delighted with the installation of our new outdoor equipment and classroom. It has been a pleasure to watch the works progress and we are now really excited for the children to start using it after the Easter break.

world book day 2023

Our PPS World Book Day took place on the on March 7th. The school was buzzing with excitement and the classrooms were filled with an array of different characters. Each class decorated their door using a book/author as inspiration. The School Council judged the entries carefully, and after much deliberation, UKS2:EW - Miss Williams' class were announced as the winners with their Horrible Histories theme. Da iawn!

Eisteddfod success

Year 6 residential

Year 6 experienced their first school residential trip this month when they visited Tregoyd House, Brecon. Pupils fully embraced the opportunity and showed their energy and enthusiasm when trying many different experiences, including abseiling, canoeing, archery and launching themselves on the zipwire! Staff at the venue commented about how polite and friendly our pupils were. So proud of them all!

Trips across the school

It has been lovely to see classes enjoying the opportunity to visit somewhere beyond the school grounds this month. So many fantastic learning experiences including visits to Plantasia and Llancaiach Fawr Manor.

Thank you to Pencoed library staff for organising more successful class sessions in the ‘Pop Up’ library. This has been an excellent resource during the library refurbishment, elements of which we plan to continue with the support of the wonderful library staff.
