What Makes Your Family Special?
Big Question:
Work together as a family to explore what makes your family special (unique, awesome, interesting, extraordinary, etc)
Some research ideas:
Ask adults in your family what their life was like when they were young. Where did they live? Who did they live with?
Call relatives and discuss what they think makes your family special. Ask about their history and lives.
Ask a family member how your name was chosen -or- think about what you like/dislike about your name.
Use online databases and search engines to learn about the history of your family names.
Look up on a map all the places your family lives or has lived.
Activities/Presentation options:
Draw a family portrait that shows what makes your family special
Create a poster about your family
Create paper dolls for each member of your family
Create a map (online or on paper) of how your family is connected
Use Google Slides to teach us about your family
Write the story of a memory you have about your family
Write an essay introducing us to your family
Create a video that highlights your special family
Write (and perform!) a song about why your family is special
Dress up as someone special in your family and take a picture
Create a family tree
Cook a family favorite meal together
Plan a dream vacation for your family
Make a list of all your favorite family activities
Make a playlist that represents each member of your family
