Welcome to our band program! We hope that many of you join us this upcoming school year by playing an instrument! To get a sneak peak into our program, check out all of the videos on this site. Below are three introductory videos about various aspects of our program and information about all three of our Pembroke band directors! By using the "Woodwinds", "Brass", and "Percussion" tabs in the top right corner of this site, you can begin to explore all of the different instruments Pembroke has to offer!
Any 4th grade Intermediate school student or any 5th or 6th grade student that currently does not play an instrument, will have the opportunity to start on one in September! We will be sending out more information about how to join our program starting the second week of school (the week of the 12th). During the second and third week of school, students will have the opportunity to learn about our program, test out any instrument they are interested in, and ultimately get to pick what instrument they would like to play! We want to get our young musicians playing as soon as possible, so we will add them to our lesson schedule stating the last week of September (the week of September 26th).

Meet our band teachers!
Mrs. Chase
Mrs. Chase is our Junior High band director and our woodwind specialist (Mrs. Chase started on the bassoon in 4th grade!). At the IS, she teaches flute, oboe, bassoon, and clarinet. Mrs. Chase has been working at Pembroke for 6 years and taught at Buffalo for 4.5 years before that!
Fun facts about Mrs. Chase:
-Her favorite state is Alaska
-She has 5 siblings
-Her favorite ice cream flavor is Cookies and Cream
Miss Komosinski
Miss Komosinski is our Intermediate school band director and is a brass specialist (Miss Komosinski started on trumpet in 4th grade!). At the IS, she teaches many lessons and runs band. At the high school, Miss Komosinski runs the junior high and senior high jazz groups and coaches soccer! Miss Komosinski is the main band director that you will be hearing from during your time at the Intermediate school!
Fun facts about Miss Komosinski:
-She played semi-professional soccer this past summer
-She loves snowboarding
-She loves the Harry Potter series
Mr. Bailey
Mr. Bailey is our High school band director and is also a brass specialist (Mr. Bailey started on french horn in 4th grade!). Mr. Bailey runs the marching band at the high school and directs the Batavia concert band in the summer! At the start of this school year, Mr. Bailey will just be teaching band and lessons at the high school, but you will get to meet him through our various music activities that we do!
Fun facts about Mr. Bailey:
-He used to conduct the Pembroke Community band
-When he was younger, he grew thousands of pumpkins during his summers to make money
-He has a dog named Redford and a cat named Toby
