For the sake of the theme implementation in the Pelita Fajar English Language competitions, the committee limits the definition of “hero” to be presented. According to Merriam-Webster online dictionary per 30 August 2022, there are four definitions of “hero”:
(a) mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability
(b) an illustrious warrior
(c) a person admired for achievements and noble qualities
(d) one who shows great courage
Participants of competitions may refer to any of the aforementioned definitions.

Adjudication is based on the assessment indicators distributed to participant candidates prior to and during the technical meeting.
Adjudicators are from external institutions and a local higher-grade teacher with professional proficiency to adjudicate the related category.
Announcements of adjudication results are final and non-debatable by participants nor participant officials.
Penilaian juri berdasarkan rubrik penilaian yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya. Keputusan juri tidak dapat diganggu gugat.

The Republic of Indonesia Government (NKRI) has designated National Hero Day commemoration every 10th of November. Our national heroes are everlasting reminders of selfless actions in the name of love to our nation, fellow Indonesians and people from all walks of life who contribute a great deal in our nation’s development. Such selflessness for the greater good becomes the heart of this year's OPEN HOUSE events at Pelita Fajar School.
This event “Heroes in Us” supports PELITA FAJAR SCHOOL motto of “educating not teaching”. By means of education, PELITA FAJAR SCHOOL focuses on developing students’ soft skills and hard skills. These competitions thus aim at:
1. facilitating the students to meet academic assessment in each grade;
2. encouraging the students to reach their ultimate skill in spoken communication;
3. supporting the students to compete in positively sportive and inspiring manner;
4. getting the students willing and ready for more global scope of similar competitions.
