Meet the Teacher!
My name is Rebecca Terrio and I am thrilled to be your child's preschool teacher! I joined the Pelham School District in 2022. Prior to that, I earned six years of teaching experience in grades pre-k-third grade with four of those years being in Kindergarten.
I completed both my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Salem State University where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Health Education for grades pre-k-12, a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) of the Autism Spectrum. I hold New Hampshire certifications in Special Education and Early Childhood and Massachusetts certifications in Health Education and Early Childhood Education. Lastly, I am a member of the Pi Lambda Theta National Honors Society for educators.
All About Me!
In my free time, I love spending quality moments with my family—my daughter Charlotte, my son Ian, and my husband Matt. Our days are often filled with the kind of joyful chaos that comes with raising little ones: visiting playgrounds, exploring the zoo and aquarium, splashing around in the pool, or enjoying laid-back cookouts. We also make time for regular weekend dinners with extended family, which help keep us all connected and grounded.
Beyond our family adventures, I enjoy heading to the beach whenever I can to soak up the sun and relax. Lately, I’ve also been getting into gardening as we work on landscaping our home—it's been rewarding to watch things grow. I’ve always found cooking and baking to be a fun and creative outlet, especially when I can experiment in the kitchen and make something the whole family enjoys.

Communication
As a parent myself, I understand the importance of minimizing the number of online apps you need to access and remember to check. That's why I'll be sticking to email and paper newsletters for communication. Each month, I'll send home a newsletter in your child's communication folder, outlining academic themes, important dates, and reminders. Please keep the communication folder in your child's backpack for school-to-home correspondence.
I create monthly video slideshows that I will email out around the same time as the monthly newsletters go home. Photo permission on PowerSchool is required in order for your child's photo to be included in the slideshow.
I also like to recognize students for their effort, kindness, and responsibility with "Happy Notes." Your child may occasionally come home with a handwritten note from me tucked into their communication folder.
