Audition Requirements
Here's how to plan for success:
Potential Singer/Dancers should prepare a familiar song that shows off their vocal range and best technical ability. Please stay under 2 minutes (or approximately 32 measures). While accompaniment is strongly recommended (piano or backtrack on CD or separate device), a cappella singing will be allowed.
Potential Singer/Dancers will also learn and complete a Dance Audition in person on Monday, May 10 and Tuesday, May 11 from 3-5 PM. Meet on the band practice field outside of PCHS for these days to learn the audition dance and audition. You will learn the audition dance on Monday and have some practice time to get it down, and then audition in groups on Tuesday after working on it in groups with potential dance captains. Make sure to wear comfortable but school appropriate clothing.
Potential Singer/Dancers will submit a total of one video (singing).
If you are interested in being a Singer/Dancer, contact your PCHS counselor TODAY to make sure that you are signed up for a curricular choir! All Singer/Dancers need to be enrolled in a PCHS curricular choir, so regardless of the outcome of your audition, make sure that you are enrolled in choir so that it fits in your schedule (contact Mrs. Grizzard with questions or potential conflicts).
Potential Combo Members should prepare 24 measures of their favorite piece that shows off their instrumental range and technical ability, with or without accompaniment (piano or backtrack on CD or separate device) and submit one video of their playing.
Combo members who would like to audition on more than one instrument should submit a separate video per instrument, following the above guidelines.
If you are interested in being part of the Combo, contact your PCHS counselor TODAY to make sure that you are enrolled in a curricular instrumental ensemble (band or orchestra)! Combo members need to be enrolled in a PCHS curricular instrumental ensemble, so regardless of the outcome of your audition, make sure that you are enrolled in an ensemble so that it fits in your schedule (contact Mrs. Grizzard with questions or potential conflicts).
Potential Stage Crew Members should prepare spoken responses that discuss their interest and experience in backstage work, interest in being involved with the Noteables, why they want to be a part of the team, and anything else that may be relevant to The Noteables Stage Crew. Potential stage crew members will submit one video of their spoken responses to the above topics.
You may audition for more than one role (Singer/Dancer, Combo, Stage Crew), just submit a video(s) for each role you are interested in (singing, dancing, AND playing an instrument for Singer/Dancer and Combo, for example; or speaking about your interest in Noteables and singing and dancing for Combo and Singer/Dancer).
Auditions are Officially open until Friday, May 14th at 3:00 PM!
Potential Combo, Stage Crew Members, and Singer/Dancers should read through all of the audition information above as well as complete the audition Google forms at the bottom of this page to submit their respective auditions
Potential Singer/Dancers should come to the PCHS Band Practice Field (outside of the choir room/G building) on Monday, May 10th and Tuesday, May 11th from 3-5 PM for in-person dance auditions (wear comfortable clothing that is dress code appropriate, and bring water!)
All potential Noteables members should have their audition forms electronically completed and submitted with their audition video(s).
REMEMBER: Any previous Noteables will be required to complete an individual AUDITION or INTERVIEW for the Noteables as part of this process.
All returning members interested in a leadership position must obtain and complete additional information and sign up for an interview time with Mrs. Grizzard during advisory periods.
Mrs. Grizzard reserves the right to ask anyone auditioning for additional video(s) to clarify skills, range, etc. This will serve as a callback audition, and will be communicated via student and parent/guardian e-mail provided on your audition forms if additional video(s) are requested.
All submitted videos will NOT be shared with the public, and will only be seen by Mrs. Grizzard and additional qualified audition judges in order to determine eligibility for the group.
** The FINAL list of The Noteables 2021-2022 will be posted on FRIDAY, May 14th after Graduation (in the evening after 7:00 PM) in the space above on this page. **
