Instruments

Students have the option of either purchasing their own instruments or hiring the instruments term by term. If you are purchasing an instrument for the first time, please speak to your instrumental tutor for advice beforehand. If there is an instrument you would like to learn but is not currently offered, please enquire with the music department.

Hire of Instruments

The hire of instruments can be organised through the College via the Music Administrator. Instruments are provided by Size Music or the College. If you hire an instrument, you must complete the Instrumental Hire Agreement Form prior to receiving the instrument. Instruments can be kept over term breaks, however, must be returned to the College at the cancellation of lessons.

Fees

Instrumental lesson fees will be invoiced prior to the term commencing and must be paid in full by the due date. If the fees remain outstanding after the due date, lessons may be suspended until payment is made. All instrumental lessons are charged per half hour for the full term. Lesson costs and instrument hire costs can be found on the Instrumental Enrolment Form.

Please note that tuition books and consumables may incur an additional cost and will be added to the tuition invoice where required.

Additional costs may be payable for external music events. ie. Generations in Jazz.

Lesson Attendance

Students are expected to attend every lesson unless officially excused e.g. school excursion or illness. Students should attend each lesson on time and be fully prepared. In situations where a student is unable to attend an instrumental lesson, they must advise the Music Tutor by no later than 8am on the day of the lesson. If the Music Tutor is not advised before this time, the lesson will be forfeited.

When an instrumental lesson is scheduled midway through an academic lesson, as a matter of courtesy, students should advise their teacher at the beginning of the lesson that they will be leaving during the lesson.
