One of the best weapons in Mesopotamia was the composite bow. The composite bow was so great because they could kill enemies from far away. They wouldn't have to risk foot soldiers in battle. Foot soldiers were great but arrows went far. The composite bows range is 400 yards or four football fields which is pretty far.
Another weapon in ancient Mesopotamia Is the slingshot. Men would hunt with it for deer and wildlife. But after the men were old enough they would then use their slings to kill enemy foot soldiers. The slingshot could go as fast as a .44 magnum. Which makes them really lethal weapons.
Spears were helpful for Mesopotamia's. Spears were helpful to Mesopotamia's because they were a sharp projectile that flew through the air. They were a helpful weapon especially on chariots. They would also be used to hunt in the summer.
Swords were a great weapon for foot soldiers because they were easy to handle. Swords could be bent or straight. There was something that was called the sickle sword. The sickle sword was so great because it was bent so it could parry attacks. Also it would kill easily because it was curved. (CB)
In ancient Mesopotamia there were spies which would find out the opponent's battle plans. Prisoners of war and a great tactic the chariot. Spies were important in ancient Mesopotamia because you could find out your enemies plans. Spies are also used in modern day warfare. Spies could find out battle plans and even inventions. But if spies were found they would become prisoners of war. Prisoners of war are people who are captured during battle and imprisoned. But usually they would be sacrificed in a temple. Or sent off to foreign places to be used as not slaves but helpers to other people. Mesopotamia would also use chariots to throw spears and ride into battle. (CB)
