High School Band
High school band is open to any student regardless of their previous training or experience in band. Band students are taught at an individual level based on past experiences, and work at their own level by 17 attending individual weekly lessons. Students are graded at their ability level. Grades are based on progression of musical technique and expression in lessons and large group rehearsal. The high school band performs many different types of literature including pep and pop music, jazz, marches, and concert selections. They perform at school and community functions including local homecoming parades, pep performances at school sporting events, concerts for the community, the Six Rivers large group band festival, and local area celebrations. Extra-curricular opportunities through band include yearly trips, solo and ensemble festival performances, and a major performance trip every four years. Instruments are available for rental from the school for $30.00 per semester.
