Writing 

This year students will strengthen their writing by practicing the writing strategies in a variety of genres.  Throughout the year students will be given the opportunity to explore many different forms of writing.  Students will take their writing through the writing process to develop their writing skills. 

The following skills are taught, practiced, and implemented in our classroom include, but are not limited to: 

• short responses 

• extended responses

•  literary essays

• personal narratives

•  poetic writing 

• RACE to respond strategies 

• reflecting/responding to literature.
