Welcome to Dentrix training!

Although we do not know what software your office will have this is a great tool to help you understand online charting and treatment planning. This is a daily task for all Dental Assistants. Remember the Basics:

RED: Treatment to be completed (Treatment Plan)

BLUE: Treatment completed in our office (Existing)

GREEN: Treatment that is existing-completed in another dental office. (Existing Other)

You have access to common charting abbreviations on your student portal as well as a tooth numbering chart. You will be responsible for recording the health history, reason for visit, clinical exam, treatment suggested as well as the post op instructions given to the patient and the following visit that will be your responsibility to schedule. Remember your chart notes are legal documents. Everything that goes int he patients mouth must be recorded. All chart notes including restorative, limited/NP exams and referrals must be signed and dated by the provider. It is always nice if the assistant signs with their initials in case we have questions later.
