I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is dedicated to helping others that are looking for support with their mental health and wellness goals. I work with clients to develop the best therapeutic plan for their personal goals and desired outcomes. I have extensive experience in working with children as my career began as a teacher and school counselor. I've also worked with adults in a variety of settings, including private counseling services.
Just a little about me personally, I have been married for 26 years and have four amazing children. Two are in high school and two are in college. I can say that in most situations, if I haven't experienced something professionally, that I've likely experienced it as a wife or a parent, and many times it's been that I've experienced most things in life from ALL of these perspectives. I'm also very fortunate to have a large pool of knowledgeable counselors to collaborate with when needed. My counselor supervisor is Lisa McCormick of Courageous Connections in Montgomery, and she is full of knowledge and experience! Being a counselor means also taking my own advice and finding time for self-care. I believe in taking time to check the balance between work and life, reorganizing and planning ahead by "triaging" life by importance, and scheduling that time to find peace. I like to walk and listen to books on audible, do yoga, play pickleball, and watch my kids in their activities. Life will always be there to throw you a curve ball or add a little more stress. Taking action to take care of your mental health and wellness should be a priority, and you'll find on your journey that it's easier to take in these events with more resiliency.
