About Me
Originally I'm from a small town in southern Illinois; I lived there for most of my life until moving to Texas to finish my education. While in Texas, I met my now husband, got married, and together we adopted two dogs.
WPU (and the greater Raleigh area) has been my home since the fall of 2019. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies, traveling, and hanging out with my kiddo.

Factors influencing texting behavior (paragraph vs. short-burst)
In Progress Studies
The study of texting behavior is aiming to investigate factors that could influence people to text in paragraphs (long messages with multiple thoughts or sentences in a single message) or in rapid fire fashion (multiple short messages are sent in close succession). My new research study aims to determine whether impulsivity, working memory, attachment style affect texting behavior. To test this, participants will complete a battery of tasks including immediate and delayed memory task and an auditory digit span.
For the change blindness study, I am examining whether there are gender differences in people's ability to detect changes in their environment. To test this, participants will complete a computerized change blindness task where they will be asked to report changes they notice across pairs of pictures.
