At the beginning of every school year, the TLC High School staff and students come together to create our Community Values for the year. Here's our Community Values for the Academic Year that our students and staff created in conjunction with the Peabody Public School's Vision of the Graduate standards.
The Therapeutic Learning Community High School is a substantially separate Special Education program for students grades 9-12 with emotional disabilities.
Students are referred to this program through the special education team meeting process. Potential students have been identified with social/emotional disabilities or issues with other staff/students. Students can be admitted on either a full-time placement or 45 day extended evaluation by the special education team where there is potential to find ways to better support the student’s needs.
Students must be on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) prior to admission to the TLC High School. Students with an IEP must have a documented Emotional Disability with this disability area significantly impacting their ability to access the academic curriculum.
Peabody Therapeutic Learning Community High School also utilizes Social Emotional Learning curriculum within our program to promote the CASEL Framework instill core values of Social Emotional Learning with our students. We foster a learning environment that helps students grow and learn not only academically, but also in the areas of Relationship Skills, Self-Management, Responsible Decision Making, Self-Awareness, and Social Awareness.
