THIS IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS THAT RECEIVED A LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE INTO THE COURSE!
Description:
Algebra I in Middle School provides 8th grade students with a challenging curriculum that is aligned to the Massachusetts Common Core Standards for Mathematics. At the advanced level, students will engage in rigorous study of algebraic and graphical representations of problems; function notation and language; linear, quadratic, and exponential relationships; data regression; and the real number system including both rational and irrational numbers. Therefore, the curriculum moves at an accelerated pace. Opportunities are provided for students to master mathematical content and skills; apply reasoning and problem solving skills to real world situations; and build conceptual understanding that serves as the foundation for all high school mathematics. The primary goals of the course are to foster independent learning, encourage in-depth exploration of the content, and build the skills necessary for all subsequent high school mathematics courses.

a. Complete edpuzzles before doing the delta math for each lesson (you need an 80% or higher on an edpuzzle to receive credit for it).
When doing your delta math, there are additional videos you can watch within the assignments. We would also recommend you take notes on each topic based on the videos if it is one that appears unfamiliar to you.
You should pace yourself! All assignments are due by August 22, but I recommend at least 1 topic per week. If you get something wrong, look at the explanation to see why you have it wrong.
I will be checking periodically to make sure you are actively working, and phone calls will be made to update parents on student progress.
*I will re-sync Delta Math and edpuzzle every other day, but I am away June 30-July 4. Please try to join the Google Classroom before that.*
