TEDx 2025 Announcement!
I am so honored to tell you that on April 12, 2025, I was able to stand on the TEDx stage at the University of the Pacific to share a message that is very close to my heart: Children as environmental champions. This talk explored how powerful the leadership of children can be during our time of climate change and environmental crisis.
TEDx is all about spreading ideas that inspire, challenge, and transform perspectives.

Over the years, Pamela and her advisors have evolved POCO from simple meet-ups for people of color to a growing program of environmental and cultural education. Since inception, POCO has hosted over 450 outings including hiking, birding, canoeing, snowshoeing, biking and camping and more. As POCO continues to grow, Pamela has added a nature education program for children grades pre-K through 5th called the People of Color Guardians. The POCO Guardians program is open during Winter, Spring and Summer breaks.
"POCO is family friendly, not just for adults. So we're teaching these littles from a young age, to teens about nature, enjoying nature, the importance of preserving nature, about protecting animals."

"There's a peace that comes from, spending time in the environment, and there's a peace that comes from spending time with like minded folks. Spending time with people who might be going through the same issues."
