A Virtual Field Environment (VFE) is a series of 360-degree panoramic images with embedded photos, videos, and audio clips that allows students to remotely "explore" a field site. The following VFEs were created by student in my Capstone class, "Science Inquiry in the Outdoor Classroom." My students began constructing these during the Covid-19 pandemic as a substitute for K-12 outdoor science field trips. Moving forward, the VFEs will primarily be used as an enrichment and classroom introduction to actual K-12 field trips. A generalized teacher's guide to the VFEs can be found here. Most of the VFEs below have their own site- and theme-specific guides.
