Laine James (LJ)
They/Them
Laine is a senior at PSU pursuing their bachelor’s degree in Social Science. Some of their passions include sex education, peer recovery and somatic healing. Overall, they have a dedication to becoming a well-rounded community activist/organizer. Their heart lies in liberation and healing, fueling the excitement they have for a project such as QTSOCC. With a philosophy based in radical love as a concept/practice, they aim to use this each and every day as an approach to not only activism, but in all aspects of life. Laine is a writer, poet, artist, dancer, and much, much more. They also have a deep love for all things horror and games/puzzles of any kind.
Arielle Chhunkeo
She/Her
Arielle (awr-ree-ell) is a sophomore at PSU studying graphic design while also doing illustration as a freelancer and hobby. Proudly a transwoman who started her Gender Journey in November 2024, she's been living vicariously microdosing estrogen and living as someone in a body that she'll come to love. Ari is a first-generation Cambodian American who's one of three gender-expansive folks in her family, hoping to be the torchbearer in showing that authenticity and choosing yourself is exponentially better than anything. With drawing in her free time, she enjoys listening to music, designing graphics, and building LEGO sets.
Mireya is a proud queer, gender expansive, first generation Mexican-American activist and academic. They were born and raised here in Oregon, and despite their many address changes, they will always consider it home. Her background is in community organizing, racial and ethnic studies, and public health research. Holding all of these identities and more is why Mireya is passionate about building a future where all people can live safe and meaningful lives. In their free time, Mireya can be found hanging out with Louis and Picchu (their perfect tuxedo cats), drinking coffee, reading, or watching the NWSL.
