Laine James (LJ)
They/Them
Hey y’all! I’m Laine, a lot of folks call me LJ. I am a junior at PSU pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Social Science. My ultimate goal is to acquire my counseling license with a specialty in Sex therapy, in addition to certifications in addiction counseling and massage therapy. All with the intention of developing my skills and abilities as a community activist/organizer. My passion lies in liberation and healing for us all, the reason for which I am incredibly excited about this year’s QSOCC theme. My philosophy is based on radical love as a concept/practice and I aim to use this each and every day as an approach to not only activism, but in all aspects of my life. In my free time, I am a writer, an artist and a dancer. I have a deep love for all things horror and games/puzzles of any kind. I very much look forward to all the connections we will make at QSOCC 2024!! Be well, my friends (:
Hiền
He/ She
Hiền (he/she), among many other identities, is a queer (genderfluid transmasc lesbian) and neurodivergent 1st generation college student of the Vietnamese diaspora who grew up on Clackamas and Multnomah lands.
He is very passionate and dedicated to cultivating intentional spaces and resources as a part of his liberation work in ways that continue to challenge and expand his personal worldview, providing him the tools to help support and show up for his community(ies). With the community work he’s involved in, Hiền strives to bring in all of the things that have informed the person he has grown into and how he navigates the world in hopes of uplifting those around him.
In his freetime, Hiền enjoys exploring community spaces, playing in swimming holes, talking to trees, writing poetry, curating niche playlists, engaging in somatic movement, learning about human behavior, cooking, and experimenting with other creative mediums! He’s super excited to co-create this year’s ‘24 QSOCC event and potentially foster new connections as well as witness the blooming of them :’)
Matteo Chhunkeo
They/Them
Hello! I’m Matteo, a current
sophomore-standing student pursuing
Graphic Design and a budding interest in
pursuing music. As an illustrator and,
ultimately, a creative, having outlets to
express yourself through various mediums
improves your quality of life. Whether
playing an instrument, drawing, or writing,
the only limit is your imagination.
However, feeling a sense of belonging can
be challenging for someone with multiple
clashing identities. As an aro/ace Khmer
non-binary, my primary aspiration is to
feel welcomed and a sense of home for myself and anyone who joins me in my walk of
life. And I wish to push that same aspiration among the attendees for QTSOCC this
year. I enjoy practicing the cello, reading fantasy novels, listening to music, drawing,
and yapping with my friends in my free time.
Charlie
He/ Him
Hey everyone, my name is Charlie and I started working at the QRC Fall 2023. I am pursuing a degree in social work and I hope to in the future become a LCSW. I am excited to work with QTSOCC this year to build a community for collective liberation and to be able to make new connections. My goals in the future are to work with queer and trans people of color and to support the community through therapy and emotional support. In my free time, you can find me playing guitar and songwriting, cooking/baking, hanging out with my 3 cats and puppy, and creating art. I hope to see you all soon for QTSOCC 2024, if you see me, don't be afraid to come say hi!

They were born and raised here in Oregon, and despite their many address changes, they will always consider it home. Her background is in community organizing, racial and ethnic studies, and public health research. In their free time, Mireya can be found hanging out with Louis (their perfect tuxedo cat), drinking boba, reading, or watching romantic comedies.
