PSU Future ready Oregon

Join us at PSU's Future Ready Oregon Conference on May 24, 2023 to explore the future of workforce development, emphasizing the interconnectedness of Indigenous, climate, and collaborative themes. Engage with regional leaders from community-based organizations, educational partners, public agencies and businesses in meaningful discussions. The event will feature interactive breakout sessions and inspiring examples from various sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare and technology, as we work together to shape a more sustainable and inclusive future for the workforce in our region. Breakfast and lunch will be provided! This event is hosted by Portland State University with funding from the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC).

PSU recently received a capacity-building grant through the state’s Future Ready Oregon initiative to establish a student opportunities hub. It will be focused on building a diverse and indigenized climate-focused regional workforce and leadership in the broad sectors of health, technology and manufacturing. The Hub will be housed within PSU’s Vernier Science Center and transform existing student support programs to ensure that students from historically excluded groups can succeed in their disciplines and quickly enter fulfilling, well-paying careers.
