President’s Equal Access Scholarship Portland State University is committed to ensuring all students have the access and support they need to achieve their goals. Through the President's Equal Access Scholarship, PSU is able to support students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including racial and ethnic backgrounds, that are traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
The Renaissance Foundation The Renaissance Scholars Program has a partnership with Portland State University. Portland State Students who meet the requirements for the Renaissance Scholars Program may apply for the scholarship directly through PSU’s scholarship application website portal. The Renaissance Scholars program offers a renewable college scholarship of up to $4,000 awarded annually (with a maximum cumulative award of up to $16,000).

The Oregon Native American Chamber (ONAC) The Oregon Native American Chamber (ONAC) Scholarships will be presented at ONAC’s Annual Gathering 2017. The number of $1,000 scholarship awards will be determined by ONAC’s board each year and will vary, depending upon available funding.
VERL AND DOROTHY MILLER NATIVE AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP Eligible students include Native American residents of Oregon attending or planning to attend an accredited school in Oregon to study a career and technical (CTE) field (i.e., dental hygienist, nursing assistant, x-ray technician, etc.). The awards are for $3,000 / year and are renewable for up to four years but students need to reapply each year.
HOWARD VOLLUM AMERICAN INDIAN SCHOLARSHIP Eligible students include Native American residents of Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties seeking post-secondary education or training in science, technology, engineering or mathematics at an accredited school in the United States. The awards are for $3,000 / year and are renewable for up to four years but students need to reapply each year.
Oregon Community Foundation We believe that our community’s future depends on education. And our donors agree. With 500 funds that make higher education and training more accessible through scholarships, OCF has one of the largest scholarship programs of its kind in the country. Every year, we award close to $10 million through 3,200 scholarships. Scholarships are available for graduates of specific high schools, students interested in a certain subject, and many other types of students. Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) Scholarships- like grants- are financial aid that you do not need to pay back. There is no cost to apply. OSAC awards more than $18 million in scholarships annually. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 or more. You don't need to be a merit scholar or a student with financial need to apply. OSAC administers more than 500 scholarship programs, and you may qualify, but you won't know unless you apply!
Partnership with Native Americans American Indian Education Fund Deadline April 4th The American Indian Education Fund was established to support educational opportunities for American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian students. Our vision is strong, self-sufficient American Indian communities. Scholarships are awarded for each school year and are chosen by a national selection committee. Decisions are based on an overall assessment of the application.

Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Native American Scholars Initiative (NASI) Fellowships The APS seeks applicants for predoctoral, postdoctoral, and short-term research fellowships open to scholars at all stages of their careers, especially Native American scholars in training, tribal college and university faculty members, and other scholars working closely with Native communities on projects. These funding opportunities are supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Native American Scholars Initiative (NASI). Fellows will be associated with the APS’s new Center for Native American and Indigenous Research (CNAIR), which aims to promote greater collaboration between scholars, archives, and indigenous communities.

Ucross Foundation CALL TO NATIVE AMERICAN VISUAL ARTISTS – Applications are now open for the Ucross Fellowship for Native American Visual Artists. Established in 2017, the Ucross Fellowship for Native American Visual Artists is again open to all visual arts including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video, performance art, installation, and ceramics. The Fellowship will provide up to a one-month residency at Ucross during our Fall residency session (August – early December) and a stipend of $1,000. Each Fellow will be featured in an exhibition at the Ucross Art Gallery during the year following the residency. An exhibition brochure will be produced for each exhibition. The Fellowship is supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. While only one Fellowship winner will be selected, all applicants will have the option of being considered for a regular Ucross residency.
School for Advance Research Native American Artist Fellowships The Indian Arts Research Center (IARC) offers three artist-in-residence fellowships annually to advance the work of established and emerging Native American artists. Each fellowship includes a monthly stipend, housing, studio space, a supplies allowance, full access to the IARC collections, and travel reimbursement to and from SAR. These fellowships provide time for artists to explore new avenues of creativity, grapple with new ideas to further advance their work, and strengthen existing talents. The fellowships support diverse creative disciplines and can include sculpture, performance, basketry, painting, printmaking, digital art, mixed media, photography, pottery, writing, and film and video. However each fellowship has specific applicant criteria as indicated below.
