Based on your activity on your phone, and even around your phone (yes Google and other companies sometimes track what you say as you say it), there are big data companies compiling this information and selling this information to other companies to tailor advertisements to you and your guardians based on your online activity, and even based on keywords your phone hears you say while your smartphone is nearby. This extends to your activity on desktop computers, and even on any computer or computing device you sign into with an email address you are associated with.
Every individual with a smartphone or computing device that is connected to the internet has a profile somewhere that is constantly being updated based on your online activity.
If you're saying to yourself "That is sketch'99," you're right! It is! Take it from someone who used to work as a Digital Marketer with multi-billion dollar corporations, your online data is more accessible than you'd think.
So be safe and take care when you are using your phone or computing device. The important part to take away from this is to please be aware of the tools and methods companies are using to tailor advertisements to you and your family.
