Characterized by a mix of rap, hyperpop, autotuned vocals, and heavy production, DJ Jorts (Orion Boughton) is on a quest to spread joy and good vibes to the greater Portland area– and eventually, the world. During the summer of 2023, Orion noticed a resurgence in the wearing of “jorts” (jean-shorts), a whimsical, and highly cultural clothing article. After reminiscing upon the numerous jeans they had jorted themselves, they hit the studio immediately– with the personal mission of bringing this stylistic phenomenon to the forefront of music. 

Inspired by artists such as: 100 gecs, The Beatles, Juice WRLD, Jane Remover, Nova, Young Miko, Yeat, Daniel Herskadal, Lunchbox, Nicki Minaj, Robert Glasper, DJ Lucas, Voda Fuji, Limp Bizkit, bbno$, and many more, DJ Jorts brings the fun, freeing energy of wearing jean-shorts to the mainstream through emotional and comedic lyrics that many listeners can relate to.
