Academic Coaching
Location: FMH 360
Academic coaching is a free support service available to all PSU students. Students work with coaches to create measurable plans to meet their academic goals. Goals may address school/life balance, active learning and studying strategies, organization, communication skills, how to access resources, and more. Coaches can also serve as accountability partners for students throughout their studies.
Disability Resource Center (DRC)
Location: SMSU 116
The DRC provides reasonable accommodations for students who encounter barriers in the learning environment and works with students who have physical, learning, cognitive, mental health, sensory, chronic illness, and other disabilities.
Library
Location: Millar Library, Park Blocks
Get research help for your University Studies course from the Portland State Library. Librarians can help you form research questions, think about keywords, develop search strategies, access and evaluate sources, and cite sources properly. Visit the University Studies subject guide to get started. You can also ask a librarian in person, by email, or 24/7 chat.
Progression Team
Location: FMH 360
The Progression Team provides personalized support tailored to each student, can act as a single point of contact to connect to PSU resources, and offer guidance with processes, forms, and administrative tasks.
Tutoring at the Learning Center
Location: Second floor of Millar Library, Park Blocks
The tutors at the Learning Center can help with reviewing and clarifying concepts addressed in class or in your textbook. They can also help you understand the meaning of an assignment, as well as make suggestions on how to start an assignment.
Writing Center
Location: CH 188
The PSU Writing Center is staffed by instructors who have taught writing at all levels. Students can schedule time to work with a writing consultant in person or online.
Basic Needs Hub
Location: SMSU 435
The Basic Needs Hub provides students with one place to stop for all concerns related to providing basic needs support, including but not limited to food assistance, housing services, and emergency funds. Our mission is to connect PSU students to resources in the moment of need so students can focus on academics, career goals, and interpersonal relationships.
Emergency Funds
PSU’s Undergraduate Emergency Fund assists undergrad students on the verge of pausing their educational pursuits due to a financial emergency or natural disaster. PSU may also issue short-term loans to students registered for at least one credit for the current term and who meet the eligibility requirements.
Financial Wellness Center
Location: FMH 130
The Financial Wellness Center is designed to give all students the tools and resources needed to empower them to make healthy financial decisions. Meet one-on-one with a Financial Coach regarding your PSU student account, re-enrolling at PSU, resolving a debt owed to PSU, understanding the cost of your degree, creating a sustainable budget, repairing credit, or repaying student loans.

PSU CARES
Location: SMSU 433
PSU CARES connects students with resources when they are experiencing distress or other concerns that might impact their personal or academic success. Types of concerns that can be referred through the PSU CARES form include, but are not limited to, housing and financial insecurity, health or mental health concerns, harassment or discrimination, or any event that is traumatic or disruptive.
PSU Food Pantry

All PSU Students may choose their own free supplemental groceries at the PSU Food Pantry. The PSUFP website includes frequently updated information about where to find free food on or near campus, as well as current hours, policies, and information about how to use the Pantry.
Center for Student Health & Counseling (SHAC)

PSU's wellness resource offers both telehealth and in-person visits to support everything from managing stress to general wellness. SHAC provides health services, dental services, counseling services, and health promotion & education.

Canvas Student App
The Canvas Student app allows you to access your courses and groups using a mobile device. You can submit assignments, participate in discussions, and view grades and course materials.
Canvas Notification Settings
Canvas includes a set of default notification settings you can receive for your courses. However, you can change the default settings by setting your own notification settings.
Printing, Copying, and Scanning
Multi-function printer-copier-scanners are available to PSU students, faculty, and staff on campus in OIT labs found in the Library, FMH, and in the UNST office in Cramer Hall. Each student, staff, and faculty member has 500 print credits per term. You can upload your print jobs from home and print them on campus, and check your remaining print balance at https://labs.print.pdx.edu.
Victor E. Bot is a text bot that provides a way to ask questions and address any challenges you may face as a student, 24/7. At the beginning of each term, Victor E. Bot will send a text message to all PSU undergraduate students. You can then add Victor E. Bot to your contacts and ask him questions at any time! You'll also see a green chat bubble in the bottom right corner of many PSU pages that will open a chat with Victor E. Bot.
